Zimbabwe's proudest acting export Danai Gurira just made us even prouder after announcing that she will be hosting the 26th Annual Screen Actor's Guild awards announcement in Los Angeles. The news was broken a week before the SAG nominees are set to be unveiled and Danai has been the talk of Tinseltown since.

Danai, who has starred in blockbuster shows such as The Walking Dead has seen her star rise in the last five years and this latest gig is only going to help her take her stock even higher. The 41-year-old will be announcing alongside Ugly Betty star America Ferrera and the entire event will take place on the 11th of December.

Danai shared the news on Twitter where she wrote, "Thrilled to announce that I’ll be presenting the 26th @SAGawards nominees with the amazing @americaferrera next week on Dec.11 !"

This is just another feather in Danai's illustrious cap, which also includes making history by becoming the first African female writer to have a play on Broadway. She's credited as having brought the stories and lived realities of African women to the bigger theatres in the world. Her work earned her a Tony Award nomination - which became just one of a number of trophies in her trophy cabinet.

Danai had a blast at the 2019 Screen Actor's Guild Awards. The actress was spotted backstage with Angela Bassett and she also won at that same event in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category for her role on Black Panther.

Now, with the hosts announced, all the attention will be directed at Danai's outfit and we'll be wondering exactly what she's going to wear. Do you think she's going to go for something daring or safe? Let us know by tagging @Zimbolebs on social media.
