South African musician, AKA, is taking it one step at a time when it comes to his musical output, and has asked fans to trust his process. The rapper’s upcoming EP, Bhovamania, is expected to drop in the near future, and fans can’t help but wonder why it is an EP and not a full album.

In a tweet shared on Wednesday, 16 September 2020, a fan asked if his next offering, which they hope will be released next year, will in fact be an album, seeing as though the EP will consist of less songs than they are used to. AKA responded with, “Can I please just get this next project out before we start talking about the next one. Sheesh. Also ... don’t get so stuck on the word “album”. The only reason I’m calling it an “EP” is because it’s the first time I use a concept to guide the process.”

AKA released the track list for his upcoming project on Saturday, 12 September 2020, which showed a total of 13 songs. The songs which will be featured in Bhovamania include; his intro, Casino, Heavy Drank, Python, My Heart, Finesse, Holy Water, Energy, Monuments, African Man, Startin’ Now and AKA. One song in particular that grabbed the attention of the public was Mufasa, which is suspected to reference his arch enemy, Cassper Nyovest.

Following the release of his track list, AKA shared visuals of himself in the studio with Sjava and Naak Music, however he did not elaborate on whether they would be featured in his album. Seeing as though his track list is complete, fans questioned him on where these musicians fitted in, and assumed that there would be more music to come, aside from Bhovamania. A tweep asked, “So Mega bro I saw you working with Sjava the other day and Naak Music are they also going to be on the EP?”. The rapper has yet to comment on whether there would be more music to be released other than his EP.
