Top 17: A First For Idols SA

In the past, when Idols SA judges couldn't decide which two contestants would make it into the top 16 - this after choosing 15 - they'd ask South Africa to decide by voting for their preferred singer.

But this time, Unathi, Somizi and Randall took a different approach when they decided that there should be a top 17 instead of the usual 16 - this has never been done before.

One by one contestants  made their way through the long aisle to find out their fate. With 32 singers left in the competition, it was a difficult task for the judges to decide; especially knowing that 16 hearts would be broken in the process.

Kwa-Zulu Natal twins, Viggy and Virginia were the last contestants to hear the judge's final decision before handing over the eviction reigns to the public next week.

Naturally, the twins knew that they were about to be separated, but the judges stunned everyone when they decided to put both of them through.

This sent social media into a frenzy!
