As of Monday, Gomora and The River viewers will finally be treated to new episodes after a mini drought due to the lockdown.

The River and Gomora both went on production breaks due to the national lockdown.

Mzansi's productions houses during level 5 have had to put their scripts and cameras down. As of lockdown level 4, many production houses have returned to work but just not soon enough as now most have run out of episodes and are forced to go on production breaks.

The most-watched show on DStv, Gomora production house Seriti Films shared on social media what viewers could expect when the drama series returns on Monday 25 May.

Gomora during its first month on air had 2.5 million views, dethroning The Queen. The new arrival is a huge hit amongst Mzansi viewers even Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi is a fan.

Gomora will also welcome a new guest addition Vusi Kunene, who is set to portray Rodney “Uncle Rod” Sibeko, Mbongeni’s long-time best friend.

Multiple South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) winning The River also took to social media to share that the "marsive drama" will also be back on screens on Monday.
