Lady Zamar Breaks Silence On Babes Bullying Saga

Lady Zamar has spoken out for the first time about the ordeal she suffered at the hands of fellow singer Babes Wodumo

The Idols SA guest judge was a victim of a viral video which saw her being bullied over her acne and being called a b*tch, amoungst other derogatory names.

The culprit behind the clip was none other than gqom singer Babes, who last week confessed to indeed making the nasty statement.

Lady Zamar - real name Yamikani Janet Banda - maintained a dignified silence throughout the whole saga until this week when she spoke to Drum magazine about her pain, embarrassment and even anger over the drama that has played out in the media.

She told Drum; “I didn’t even know the meaning of the names she called me, but I eventually learned that one of them is a b***h who goes around sleeping with different men to the point where her vagina is worn out!

“And I was horrified, how could she be so cruel, to invest so much time and effort just to be just a mean person? I couldn’t believe it.

Lady Zamar claims she was hurt by Babes's denial which saw the latter initially claim she was hacked and going as far as to completely deny any involvement in the video!

Even Babes’s partner Mampintsha came to her defense, publicly assuring her that they would “find” the culprits.

In a twist of events however, Babes came clean, claiming that she was simply reacting out of anger at Lady Zamar’s criticism of the contestants on IdolsSA.

But Lady Zamar is of the belief that the confession is a little too late.

“She not only disrespected me, but fans as well, and you just don’t do that – you’re undermining so many people, that’s just wrong.”

Lady Zamar also disputes the public claim made by Babes and her sister Nondumiso Simelane that they have contacted her to apologise

“None of them reached out to me, nobody called me to apologise, they don’t even have my number, so that’s a lie. Babes Wodumo’s sister is a liar,” she added to Drum.

And even though she deserves one, Lady Zamar claims she doesn't need an apology.

“It’s not important to me, I don’t know why she doesn’t like me, and I honestly don’t care. I’m going to avoid her as I’ve always done – what she said might’ve hurt me, but it doesn’t define me, we get up and do better things, choose to be better people. If more people cared about being good people, the world would be such a better place.”
