Boity Delivers A Killer Verse On #UtatakhoRemix

It's new music Friday and although many of your faves have dropped new music, the streets are only talking about one woman: Boitumelo Thulo.

We've known for a while that Boity was going to be on the remix of Yanga's smash hit, uTatakho but let's just say nobody had any idea of what she had in store for us. The remix dropped as part of Yanga's 9-track EP, Becoming a Pop Star which dropped on streaming platforms countrywide this Friday and although the project features the original Utatakho, the new song 200 (which caused drama earlier this week), all the attention was on the hotly anticipated remix.

Yanga took a back seat for the heated remix. Instead, he reserved his contributions for the hook (which needed no changing) and he let his collaborators; Boity, Riky Rick and Dee Koala; share the bulk of the spotlight.

Riky and Dee were hot, but it was Boity's verse which stole the show both on the track and on the timeline. The Sissyboi collaborator has been trending all morning after her verse hit home in a number of ways after she reflected on her upbringing, growing up with a single mother and an absent father. In doing so she paid homage to uTatakho, the television show which sees children reunite with their absent fathers.

Just take a look at her opening line:

"Personally this is a touchy subject, cause my dad was alive but his presence wasn't. So my mama was everything that he wasn't... I could never be the one to ever judge him, cause I turned out amazing..."

The lyrics touched the nation in a strong way and the rapper's verse has been on repeat across the country for the last few hours. Take a look at the reaction on social media:
