Arthur Mafokate Cleared Of Assault Charges

Yesterday the Midrand Magistrate's court found Arthur Mafokate not guilty of assaulting his ex girlfriend and musician, Busisiwe Thwala - better known as CiCi.

A media statement released by Nakeng Attorneys - who are Arthur's legal representatives - confirmed his acquittal.

The statement read: “We confirm that we were acting on behalf of Mr Arthur Mafokate in the assault matter which was preferred against him by his ex-girlfriend Ms Busisiwe “Cici” Thwala in 2017 after a dispute at his house. Our client has maintained his innocence throughout the entire ordeal; including protracted court case.

"Yesterday the Midrand Magistrate’s Court acquitted Mr Arthur Mafokate of the above mentioned matter of assault.”

This comes after CiCi laid charges against the king of Kwaito after an altercation between the two ex lovers allegedly broke out and turned violent. It was reported that CiCi was dragged for approximately 300 metres while holding on to the door handle of Arthur’s car. This led to grievous bodily harm, causing the R&B musician to undergo pelvic replacement surgery and was later told by her doctor that she may never have children due to the injuries she sustained.

The legal battle had dragged on for over a year, with Arthur opening counter assault charges; claiming he was the one subjected to physical assault. However, last year, Cici was found not guilty of those charges.
