After the release of his much-anticipated album, Mother Tongue, Slap Dee has lived up to everyone's expectations. Mwila Musonda is a Zambian hip hop and rap legend, his latest album is just another stamp on the wall of how talented he is.

Since it's release, there has been nothing else dominating the Twitter streets in Zambia, most of the commentary being nothing short of praise and admiration from his long-time fans.

It was anticipated that would do well since its release and the fact that it dethroned Chef 187 confirms how much of a success it is. Chef 187 is one of Zambia's biggest rising hip hop stars of the last decade. He is an award-winning rapper who lived in the Copperbelt Province, which heavily influences the music he writes and performs. Chef 187 was interested in music from a very young age, but it was only when he saw the success and family support for his older brother Macky 2, one of Zambia's biggest hip-hop stars, that he too ventured into the music industry.

Slap Dee will certainly be adding more awards to his name, his numerous nominations and awards, including the 2009 Ngoma Music Award for best hip hop artist, AFRIMM Award nomination(s) for Best Male (artist) Southern Africa, 9 ZMA awards for best male and hip hop artist and six Sun FM Kwacha Music Awards, winning three in 2017 and three in 2002.

Slap Dee is a star musician who has not only attained fame and fortune in the music industry but also magnified his wealth base through constant business dealings which encompass transport services, printing, clothing, etc. In addition to his status as the CEO of XYZ, Slapdee is believed to have gathered huge money for himself from his notable shows.
