Radio personality and Hip Hop commentator Scoop Makhathini never ceases to amaze us. The Popcast co-host and YFM DJ just announced that he is ready to drop his first single.

According to him, this comes after cries from his followers for him to make music. The man, whose real name is Siyabonga Ngwekazi, did make mention that his forthcoming track will not be a rap single.

"You guys have been asking me to rap. I won’t but that doesn’t mean I will not make music." He posted, revealing that he is part of a band that has been making music for the last 12 months. "This is a band I’m in. We are called “KWANTU AND THE GANG”. We have been recording for a year and we finally finished the album. It will be called “QUBHA NOMAMLAMBO” 🧜🏾‍♂️🧜🏾 ."

The project is set to come out next year during Scoop's birth month. He said that he is giving everyone some time to get some time to prepare, hence the early announcement.

"We will release the project next year in April. My birth month. I’m giving everyone enough time to get their shit together cause we are coming to change the game. I have changed every space I have been in. Now I’m being called to music."

Not doubting any of Scoop's abilities to make music, but this move from him came as a huge surprise to us. His career as a music journalist and hip hop historian has really shot up over the last few months. His voice in the Southern African music scene really matters and he did make it clear before that he doesn't want to make music so that his opinion as a music journo isn't biased. Nonetheless, we are excited about his new path and can't wait to hear this new single.
