Smiles For The GIMC

The 6th annual Gaborone International Music and Culture week (GIMC) starts on the 31th of August, bringing you fitness tips and classes, good music, the best actors, funny comedians and so much more.

The event, which will be headlined by South African artists Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Mafikizolo and Bongo Maffin, will  run under the theme Celebrate Diversity, Celebrate Botswana Arts, and in order to stand a chance to win some tickets, post a picture of yourself smiling and tag the GIMC twitter account.

GIMC is the only event in Botswana that runs for a week, as it will end on the 7th of September. Local musicians who will also take the stage include Motlha, Charma Gal, ATI, Chrispin The Drummer, Vee, Ndingo Johwa and others. South Africa and Botswana's favourite DJ, DJ Fresh will also be there, as well as A-Reece, Busiswa, Shekhinah and house music duo Black Motion. Comedians Katlo K, Brian Sibanda, Vhaloyd, Mashabela, Tol A$$ Mo and Tips Shampoo will also be in attendance for a good laugh.

The best thing about the GIMC is that you get your money's worth. The organisers have put together eight shows in one week, starting with jazz, followed by a champagne picnic, theatre, poetry, choral, comedy and the festival; the bonus being the fitness and aerobics for all the gym freaks and bunnies on the 30th.
