Alpha Female: A woman who has embraced her leadership ambitions. She is talented, highly motivated, and self-confident.

There is nothing as inspiring as a celeb who motivates you to be a better version of yourself. The entertainment industry has a way of diluting one's identity, especially with the pressure that comes with constantly being in the public eye. Alpha females embrace their confidence and this helps them lead and motivate others. A few characteristics they possess include how they believe their ability to achieve anything and everything is limitless. They have a confidence that is contagious, which leads others to respect them as an equal no matter the industry or job. Alpha females are also extremely ambitious and their actions and leadership characteristics are often viewed as impactful.

The term ‘alpha female’ is thrown around casually, but there are few ladies in South Africa who are the embodiment of the term. Here is a list of a few of our favs.

Connie Ferguson

Connie (Constance) Ferguson is an actress from Botswana who is currently based in South Africa. The actress, filmmaker, producer and businesswoman is famously known for her role as "Karabo Moroka" from the famous soapie, Generations. Connie and her late husband, Shona Ferguson, would often serve up major couple goals with the way they worked and hustled together, loved up on each other and parented together. After losing her husband, Connie put on a brave face and continued running the several businesses they had set up. She often shares her pain on social media but simultaneously continues to be a pillar of strength for her daughters, fans and employees.

Dj Zinhle is the definition of a boss babe. From her chart topping hits to her endless entrepreneurial endeavors, Zinhle has done it all. The mother of two was recently voted Africa’s number 1 female DJ and with the banger Zinhle is constantly dropping no one could argue with that. Additionally, she was recently appointed the CEO of sparkling wine brand, Boulevard Rosé after she acquired a huge stake in the company. DJ Zinhle also has a full list of businesses under her belt with chain stores all across the country.
