The hip-hop industry is continuously growing, and rappers from around the world are making crazy amounts of money from their brands and music. Adding business and several other investments to their portfolios, these successful rappers' have grown their net worths to become some of the wealthiest figures in the entertainment industry.

There are plenty of successful rappers across Africa, however this list focuses on 3 of South Africa’s greatest.

Cassper Nyovest


Refiloe Maele Phoolo, more popularly known as Cassper Nyovest, is undoubtedly South Africa’s greatest rapper. Cassper has several titles under his belt, he is a  rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur and record producer. The rapper was born and raised in a small town in the North West, and although he dropped out of school he has managed to make a name for himself not only in South Africa but across borders as well. Cassper was recently voted Artist of the Decade at South African Hip Hop Awards and apart from making money from his music, he also has an alcohol brand, a shoe line and owns his own record label. As of 2012, his net worth was sitting at an estimated $4 million dollars. 

AKA


34 year old Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known as AKA, is the next balling South African rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur on our list. AKA was born and bred in Cape Town and rose to fame in 2010 with his hit song Victory Lap topping the charts and he has been unstoppable since. Aside from making chart topping hits, the rapper owns one of the biggest night clubs in Durban, he has a merchandise arm that sells t-shirts, sweaters, caps and has a partnership with Cruz Vodka. As of 2021, Supa Mega’s networth was sitting at approximately $10 million dollars. 

Nasty C


Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, better known by his alias Nasty C, is the youngest South African rapper, songwriter, and record producer on our list. Nasty C has featured on billboards in New York City’s Times Square, received numerous BET hip-hop nominations, occasionally hangs out with international celebs and made his acting debut on one the highest rated series on Netflix, Blood & Water. Through a joint venture with Universal Music Africa, the rapper signed a major exclusive deal with the American multinational label Def Jam Recordings. The South African rapper has achieved so much at such a young age and is not about to slow down any time soon. As of 2021, his net worth was estimated at about $3.5 million dollars.
