No one can deny that the continent is a hub of resources. Africa is rich in natural resources ranging from diamonds, sugar, salt, gold, iron, cobalt, uranium, copper, bauxite, silver, petroleum, cocoa beans, arable land, water, natural gas, forests and wildlife. In addition to the natural resources the continent hosts, it also boasts immensely talented people. From West Africa to South Africa and everywhere in between the resources and natural talent is unmatched.

This article will focus on the hidden talent to look out for from the Pearl of Africa - Uganda.



Priscilla Zawedde better known by her stage name Azawi was born and bred in Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. Azawi began writing and performing songs for fun when she was still in high school but formally began her musical career in 2015 as a dancer. The songstress joined a band in 2015 and was later signed as a solo artist in 2019. Since then, Azawi has released a number of hit songs, with close to four million views on Youtube. She is definitely on her way to becoming one of the biggest musical names from the country.

An Known Prosper

Born and raised in Entebbe, Ntege Dalton, aka An Known Prosper, is a contemporary RnB singer, songwriter, and guitarist who has undoubtedly made a name for himself, not only in Uganda but in East Africa. The musician broke into stardom in 2019 with his hit single ‘Doctor’ and has been unstoppable since then dominating the entertainment industry. At only 24 years old, An Known Prosper has already established a strong fanbase and is set on reaching greater heights.

Zex Bilangilangi

Creative and social activist Mayega Tadeo who goes by the moniker Zex Bilangilangi began his music career at the tender age of 17. Zex is from a very humble beginning and was born in and raised in Kamwokya, a slum Uganda’s capital. He often rubs shoulders with fellow industry greats such as Bobi Wine and uses his music to create awareness and a positive change in the impoverished ghetto areas in the country. The artist has promised to release a 30-track album this year and fans cannot wait for the bangers to drop.

Liam Voice

Last but certainly not least is Zisabusolo Willy, better known on stage as Liam Voice. The vocalist began his music career whilst still in high school participating in singing competitions and talent shows. Also at 24 years old, Liam has released two albums that have both topped the charts in Uganda and in East Africa. In 2021 he was named 'Breakthrough Artist of the Year' at the Hipipo's Awards and we can only expect more greatness from him this year.
