Healing Namibia Through Music

The first annual  'Heal Our Land' concert - which is aimed at bringing the Namibian public together to educate and remind them about the love of God - is taking place on Saturday, 3 August at the Zoo Park Amphitheatre.

Award-winning South African gospel stars, Dumi Mkokstad and Zaza Mokhethi will be headlining the event alongside award-winning local gospel artist, Mandra Gabriel. Other local artists to take the stage are Abner Mumbala, Vuuyo Johnson, Esmee, Jux Adolf, Sovita Joshua and  D-Naff, to mention a few.

According to the organisers, the concert will be a catalyst for furthering cooperation and multi-cultural understanding through united national prayer.

In an interview with Namibian Sun's Tjil session, chairperson of Heal Our Land Concert, Ndilimeke Nambinga explained that the aim is to pray for the social ills that the country is riddled with - this year, the focal issue is violence against women and children.

β€œOur motto is 'spread love'. We need to start igniting the love of God and love one another more,” he said.

Nambinga also called on music fans of all genres to attend, further explained that proceeds from the concert will go towards the establishment of different programmes and initiatives that have one primary goal; keeping the community safe.

"We are usually divided by the politics of life, but this event is for all of us. By attending this event, you are also giving back to the community,” Nambinga said.

The concert will be recorded and the footage will be available on DVD, either at the end of this year or early in 2020. General admission is N$100, VIP $250 via Computickets, gates open at 16h00 and concert officially starts at 18h00.
