We have always dissected President Uhuru Kenyatta’s fashion whenever possible.

In the past we have seen him wear watches costing millions of shillings, proving that truly he’s a man of taste and style when it comes to fashion.

During his meeting at State House in Nairobi with various leaders including Council of Governors chairman Wycliffe Oparanya and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to discuss the revenue allocation stalemate at the Senate, Kenyans noticed his rather unexpected shoe.

The president was wearing Kathmandu Strowan which are normally worn for hiking purposes. The shoe costs a good 18K in Kenyan shillings assuming the president bought a brand new one.

This can easily translate to 3 months of rent somewhere in Zimmerman in Nairobi where rent goes for around Ksh6,000.

Otherwise, if he bought the fake ones which are available all over, he might have just parted with 1000 bob.

Kathmandu Strowans are greatly loved because of their durability and comfort. They are normally worn with Khaki pants though the president decided to us them for official purposes.
