Diamond Platnumz is among the most successful artists both in Africa and East Africa. His versatile style of music has seen him collaborate with international artists like Alicia Keys, Marion, Rick Ross and Neyo. 

Dimond has landed major ambassadorial roles from reputable brands and companies. One that made fans talk was the Pepsi one. 

Many artists look up to him. The likes of former Gospel artists like Bahati and Willy Paul followed up in his footsteps. After Diamond established his record label Wafai Records, Bahati established Eastlands Most Beloved, EMB records, while Willy Paul came up with Saldido International.

Diamond’s real name is Nasibu Abdul Juma, and he has made the most out of it. Not only is he a good singer but also a great dancer. Across major platforms, he is among the top Bongo artists, followed by artists like Rayvanny and Harmonize. 

He was born in Tanzania, and in 1995, he joined Chakula Bora Nursery school. In the following year, he joined Tandale Magharibi Primary School, where he completed his primary education in 2002. The king of Bongo started his secondary school in 2003 and graduated in 2006. 

Sometime back, he revealed that his net worth was Ksh 405 million, making him amongst the richest artists in Africa. In a recent Forbes list of 2021, Diamond took position 17 with many Nigerian artists and Kenyan artist Akothee taking the top positions. The singer was not amused and took it to his Instagram and wrote:

“FORBES: Next time, Google me to know I am really worth of before putting me on your Stupid Richest African Musicians list!!!!!,” he posted on his Instagram page.



The Tanzanian singer was born in Amana Hospital in Dareesalam, Tanzania, on 2nd October, the year was 1989. Young Diamond grew up on the western part of Tandale and lived in his grandmother’s house with his mother. Due to unresolved conflicts, Diamond’s parents went separate ways.

Diamond Platnumz made headlines after he made his relationship with businesswoman Zari Hassan public. Zari is ten years older than Diamond. Diamond’s fans were at that time convinced that the singer preferred dating older women. The two have two children together, Princess Latifah and Prince Nilan.

His other baby mamas include Kenya’s Tanasha Donna and Hamissa Mobetto from Tanzania. Diamond has three siblings, Esma Platnumz, Romeo Abdul Jones and Queen Darleen.
